History
The name Karretània is inspired by the birthplace of Georgina, since from this toponym derives the current Cerdanya, a beautiful Catalan region located in the Pyrenees, and divided between France and Spain.
Mallorca and Cerdanya share a common history, since King James I the Conqueror left the kingdom of Mallorca to his son, James II, but also the counties of Cerdanya, Roussillon and part of Occitania, giving rise to what we know as the Crown of Mallorca.
If the two territories had already shared this common history, they could well share a new one through the winery. The couple cultivates several estates that for many years have been part of ‘n Toni’s family legacy, around 30 hectares of vineyards, olive and almond trees. They produce micro-production of single-varietal wines from native varieties of the island, with organic certification, aware that only a viticulture that respects the environment can obtain the best quality fruit, and wines that represent the culture and history of Mallorca.
